Community Guidelines
A simple, enforceable standard for everyone
What we’re building
Petside is designed for real, local connections across adoption, playdates, and community. These guidelines are deliberately practical: easy to understand, easy to enforce.
Core rules
- Be kind: no harassment, hate, or threats.
- Be honest: accurate pet details, real photos, no impersonation.
- Be safe: public meetups first, don’t share sensitive info.
- No scams: no payment requests, deposits, or “shipping pets” schemes.
- Follow the law: illegal activity is not tolerated.
High-risk content
We remove and may ban for:
- Sexual content involving minors, exploitation, or grooming
- Violence or threats
- Hate speech or targeting protected groups
- Fraud, scams, or doxxing
Adoption & rehoming
- Be transparent about fees, medical needs, and temperament
- No bait-and-switch listings
- Prefer verified shelters/rescues when possible
- Use public meetups and written agreements
Reporting & enforcement
If something feels off, report it. Reports help protect the community. Repeated or severe violations can lead to permanent bans.
Notes
These guidelines are a living policy and may evolve as features ship (e.g., verified profiles, photo verification, inbox safety cues). We aim to keep them short and enforceable.
