Greyhounds and stairs: a love story in four acts

Act 1: He has never seen stairs. He stops at the bottom and looks at me.
Act 2: Twenty minutes and many treats later, he's at the top.
Act 3: He refuses to go down. We try this for an hour.
Act 4: He figures it out on his own terms, with zero acknowledgment that this was hard.

This was four years ago. He still looks mildly betrayed by every new flight of stairs. It never fully resolves.
