Sol's first shed, and the community that talked me through it
Pet · Reptile
I'd had Sol for six months when he went cloudy and stopped eating. I posted in the community at 11pm because I didn't know what else to do. Three people answered within ten minutes. One of them walked me through the whole shed process, step by step, and told me what to expect. Another checked in two days later to ask how he was doing. I didn't know you could have a community like that for a bearded dragon. I know now.
Two dogs, two owners, one playdate that turned into a friendship
Pet · Dog
I found a playdate match through Petside for Biscuit — another greyhound named Atlas whose owner lived four blocks away. We figured it would be a one-time thing. That was fourteen months ago. We walk together every Thursday morning. Biscuit and Atlas run zoomies in the park. We've been to three adoption events together and fostered a dog between us once. The playdate feature is how it started. Everything else was just showing up.
Biscuit found his person after two years on the track
Pet · Dog
When Biscuit came off the track at four, he'd never seen a house. Never climbed stairs. Never heard a dishwasher. He stood at the apartment door and just looked at the staircase like it had personally wronged him. That was four years ago. Now he sleeps eighteen hours a day on a memory foam bed and has very specific opinions about where I sit on the couch. Petside is where I keep his whole story. The first beach trip. The day he figured out the couch. The photo I almost lost from his first week home. It's a lot of moments now and I'm glad they're somewhere.
